WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Uniforms on the First Day of School: All students wear the dress uniform (red/gray polo style shirts with black dress shorts or skirts, or plaid skorts, skirts, or jumpers, or the red polo style dress for younger grades). A school logo on the clothing is not required. Gym/running shoes are required every day. Any color shoes or socks is ok.
  • Snacks/Lunches: Please send a waterbottle labeled with your student's name. Please send a small snack in a baggie each day for grades Prek - 3. Upper grade teachers will let you know if snacks are allowed.
  • All students in all grades should bring a backpack each day. Please label everything you can. Many students have similar backpacks, waterbottles, lunchboxes, sweatshirts, etc. Our Lost and Found is always full by the end of the first month!

DROP OFF

  • Classes start at 7:45am each day. Students are late after this time in all grades and will need a late slip to enter class. Please arrive between 7:30 and 7:45am if not using the early morning drop off (starts 7am).
  • Students in K-8 attend for the first time on August 20. This day we will line up outside (weather permitting) on the side of the school office by the tree-line between 7:30 and 7:45am. Teachers will be outside and each grade will be assigned an area. Look for your Teacher holding a grade sign.
  • Students in Preschool will start August 21 at 7:45am. On this day, you can either pull up in the car line or park and walk your student into the classroom to greet your teacher and take pictures for the first day ever of school!
  • Parents, this first day of school please feel free to take pictures, greet your teacher, and enjoy the excitement. If you wish, park your car and walk up with your student to the gathering area. At 7:45 the bell will ring and we will start ushering the students into the school. This is a great time to give a hug and say "see you later". Join us for donuts and coffee before you head out!
  • Normally, drop off consists of cars pulling in on the south end of the parking lot (church side), driving across in front of the school in a SINGLE car line, and stopping to let students out on the passenger side. Please have students exit on the passenger side to the sidewalk as it is dangerous on the driver side. If in the car line, DO NOT EXIT THE CAR to help your student. We will have teachers outside each day to help students exit the car and grab their backpacks. This helps the traffic line progress quickly. Also, DO NOT PASS other cars after your student exits. We will have cones blocking off the lane to make a single file car line. Be patient-everyone is in a hurry. If you wish to walk your student to the door, please park in a parking space by the tree line to avoid crossing the traffic line.

DISMISSAL

  • The first day of school for K-8 dismissal is 11:30pm. All other days not labeled as half days dismissal will be 2:30pm.
  • Students in grades K-8 will dismiss from the front door if in grades 4-8, or the Church door if in grades K-3. Look for your teacher holding a sign with the grade.
  • Dismissal for half day Prek students is 11:00pm each day from the front door.
  • Dismissal for full day Prek students is 2:20pm each day to avoid the rush. Please pick up your Prek student from the Prek door just inside the front door.
  • Bus students will exit the rear school door to load the bus.
  • Aftercare (EDC) students will walk with the teacher/supervisor to the Dining Hall area.
  • If any student is not picked up by 2:35 they will be walked to the Aftercare (EDC) area to wait for the parent.
  • When picking up students in any grade, please park in the parking lot. Do not drive in front of the school during Dismissal. We try to keep this a safe, car free zone.
  • If there is ever inclement weather, we will send text messages to let you know how we will handle dismissal.
